24 hours in Napa

(Ryan) Caitlin is quite the planner. And I mean booking-hotels-years-out planning. So doing things spur of the moment doesn't come naturally. Recently, we had a three day weekend and figured a quick getaway was in order. When she went along with it, I didn't know what happened to my wife!

My parents had done a long weekend in Yountville, which is 15 minutes north of Napa, and loved it. With their recommendation we stayed at the Villagio Inn & Spa right in the center of town. We took a stroll downtown, passing by all the different tasting rooms, even a patch of vines in the middle of the road, and my dream restaurant, The French Laundry.

(Caitlin) My happy place is the spa. We relaxed all afternoon in the spa and had an amazing couples massage. Being in fashion, I love my style and accessories. But at the spa, there is no style needed!

The Villagio had a delicious afternoon tea set up in the lobby. After grabbing a scone (or five), we finally headed to our room. Fireplace ✔︎ Balcony ✔︎ Jacuzzi ✔︎ Bottle of wine waiting for us ✔︎

I could move in tomorrow.

We had a few hours to kill, so we Facetimed our parents. We then headed to one of my FAVORITE dinners of all time, Redd, which I found on Yelp, directly across the street from the Villagio. We each had a starter and entree and then split a dessert. Flawless.

The following morning we went back to the lobby for a champagne brunch buffet and it did not disappoint.

(Ryan) She is always taking picture of me. On a whim, we decided to hit up Berkley on the way back home. A buddy of mine went there and gave us a couple neat places to check out.

We grabbed a decent coffee at PiQ, started our campus tour up Campanile Way, which lead straight to Sather Tower. After a $3 elevator to the top, the view was incredible. We happened to find Jack McBrayer checking out the view! Caitlin got a little over excited.

We took the long way back to the car and couldn't leave without a #fromwhereistand...

Something we have learned living in Cali, you must always bring layers! You never know when it will start raining or get chilly. All in all, killer weekend trip, and we'd highly recommend all of it! Until next time.
