(Ryan) I love speaking at conferences. I get to share and talk about things I work on and meet amazing people. This year was my second time speaking at RWDevCon in DC.
Cait and I took a red-eye from San Francisco and crashed as soon as we checked in. Once we were up, we grabbed lunch at Trademark and headed to Old Town Alexandria. There were tons of shops and restaurants all along a beautiful waterfront view.
Next, we took a tour of the Carlyle House which had tons of interesting history. We loved seeing the original furniture and decorations along with the relaxing gardens.
After all that walking, we grabbed cupcakes at a small shop. We picked up a red velvet and a chocolate peanut butter to split from Alexandria Cupcake.
The following day was the highlight of our trip to DC: The National Air & Space Museum. This was the other Air & Space Museum next to Dulles International. They had the space shuttle Discovery and an SR-71!
Our last day in DC I gave my talk on 3D touch. Cait got to come and watch me present for the first time. I had a great time presenting and had a really engaged audience!
On our final night, the conference had a wrap party where we caught up with some friends from last year. So much fun to get together every year and talk shop!
It was the perfect balance of sight seeing, work, and relaxation. Until next time!
