(Caitlin) We went to Tahoe last year for my birthday and have always wanted to go back. When our awesome friends (Travis, Cate, and Watson) asked if we'd want to join one weekend, we jumped on it!
Plus, we could take the pups on their first vacation!
We drove up late on a Friday, unpacked, and went straight to bed. Saturday we woke up with the sun shining and still snow on the ground. Ryan picked up coffee and breakfast and we had a relaxing morning.
Alexander and Zoey were eager to get outside and explore. So we drove up to a trail and found that the snow was melting and creating streams, which makes it hard to hike! But they had fun in the snow, and Alexander kept searching for sticks.
On the way back we took a quick detour by the lake which made for some great puppy shots!
We met up with everyone and walked around downtown Truckee and spent way too much on Olive Oil after a tasting. We also stocked up on fudge for later that night.
We had dinner at Village Pizzeria before heading home and watching the Columbus Crew game.
Our dogs haven't spent much time around kids, so they took a little while to figure out how to play with "small human" Watson, but they ended up having a ton of fun.
We stayed up late playing King of Tokyo and things got a bit competitive! Some people didn't even win a game (cough-Ryan).
The following morning we grabbed Starbucks and drove up the mountain for some scenic shots and fun group selfies.
Stopped for lunch at Burger Me on the way out of town and had a relaxing drive home. It was so great to spend the weekend with amazing friends and enjoy the gorgeous California scenery.
Until next time!
