My husband, Ryan, and I started styleNmotion over 2 years ago as a travel blog. We were living in California at the time and experiencing so many amazing places that we wanted to document and share! You can check out our first documented trip here.
styleNmotion has evolved and grown into my full time job as an online clothing boutique and styling service for women of all walks of life. Which means that the blog needed to evolve with it!
Ryan is taking a backseat on writing (I keep him busy enough with photography and the website!) and I'm now focused on sharing two main topics:
- Our major trips. We're currently in Scandinavia and I can't wait to share all the details with you - from restaurants, sights, and how I stayed comfortable and chic for every outing. Next year is already looking pretty adventurous with Italy and Portugal already on the books!
- The #girlboss life. There are tons of fun, behind the scenes "events" that no one gets to see! From pop up shops, photoshoots, and the largest trade show in the country, you'll get a sneak peek into my day-to-day.
The best part of my job is interacting with my customers in person! So when I was asked to be apart of a new community, Girl Boss Cincinnati, I jumped at the chance! I could visit family and friends AND share my passion for styling with new women.
I flew back to Cincinnati, suitcases in tow, a few days prior to their first ever pop-up event. My niece, Mia, picked me up from the airport with Starbucks! She just gets me!
We enjoyed our girls day by the pool with La Croix and Jimmy Johns.
Then I headed downtown Cincinnati for family dinner!!
The day of the event was SO easy! My Dad drove my Mom and I, dropped us at the front door, helped us roll everything to the space, and set up. Then one of my besties brought me coffee and steamed all the clothes. Talk about spoiled!!
Dozens of friends, family, and past customers showed up to support me and the 16 other small businesses. Including my other bestie that totally surprised me by flying in from Boston! I may or may not have cried...
Being a part of a new community of inspiring girl bosses was an incredible experience. I loved supporting one another at the event and have enjoyed keeping in touch ever since.
I quickly packed up and flew back to New York, reorganized, and got ready for a two day pop up in the city! We Are Women Owned is a life-changing community of women that I've been apart of since last year. This was my fourth pop-up event with them and the best one to date!
Setting up for a pop-up in Manhattan is a lot more challenging than Ohio! Ryan left work for an hour to help me get everything from our 5th floor apartment, into a taxi, and then to the event space. It's physically impossible to do it alone and not glamorous at all!
This was the first time I set up the night before, which made for a much more relaxing experience. There were 15 powerhouse ladies apart of the event promoting and inviting their people, plus the space was in the heart of Soho and attached to Artist and Fleas which is a permanent and well-known market. It was a crazy-busy two days of constant foot traffic. Ladies wanted to try on everything and loved the dresses that they could wear in summer and into fall. Most of my customers had never heard of styleNmotion and loved working 1-on-1!
Having back to back pop-ups was exhausting but so much fun! I can't wait for my next event with We Are Women Owned September 22nd at the same Soho location!
